Techopedia Explains Cyber Library

The idea of creating a cyber library involves looking carefully at the role of the library and its use by target audiences. Gartner defines a cyber library as something created for workers in order to help them to utilize specific information resources. A resource from the National Coalition Against Censorship looks at the role of the traditional library and how cyber libraries are expanding services. For example, many public libraries now have online platforms providing various types of library resources including actual digitized versions of print media, but also things like account handling, information about library management, and other types of community resources. Sophisticated research databases such as Lexus/Nexus could also be called cyber libraries, in that they were created to provide specific information resources in a fully digital context.
