Certified Wireless USB (W-USB) is the standard that governs the development, implementation and maintenance of wireless USB devices. It is a wireless extension to the USB platform developed and maintained by Wi-Media Alliance, which includes some of the leading technology firms, such as Hewlett Packard, Intel, Philips and Samsung.

W-USB is primarily designed to provide the same simplicity, ease of use and flexibility as a USB with the addition of wireless technology. It works on the USB 2.0 and further specifications. W-USB uses ultra wideband radio waves to communicate and transfer data wirelessly. It enables supported devices such as peripheral devices, computers and laptops to achieve high data speeds in close proximity. W-USB can achieve speeds of up to 480 Mbps in a 9-foot range and 110 Mbps within 30-foot range.
